For Schools, Teachers, and Students
By accessing or using MotivAI ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are accessing MotivAI on behalf of a school or educational institution, you represent that you have authority to bind that institution to these terms.
If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Service. Use of MotivAI is conditioned on the execution of a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) between MotivAI and the contracting school or district. Individual teachers may not sign up independently — all access must be authorized by an institutional administrator.
MotivAI is a K–12 educational platform that provides:
MotivAI does not write to, modify, or delete any data in Google Classroom. All Classroom integrations are strictly read-only with respect to Google-hosted data.
MotivAI is available exclusively to schools and educational institutions that have executed a Data Processing Agreement with MotivAI. The following conditions apply:
If you are a teacher or student whose school has not executed a DPA with MotivAI, you are not authorized to use the Service. Please direct your school administrator to contact blendzion@motivai.co.
MotivAI uses Google OAuth for authentication. No separate password is required. By connecting your Google account, you agree to:
MotivAI accounts are non-transferable. Sharing account credentials or access tokens with unauthorized individuals is prohibited.
MotivAI integrates with Google Classroom through the Google API. By connecting your Google account, you authorize MotivAI to request read-only access consistent with our Privacy Policy, including:
This access is governed by Google's OAuth consent process and MotivAI's Privacy Policy. MotivAI's use of Google API data adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Users may revoke MotivAI's access to their Google account at any time through their Google Account permissions page at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking access will disable Google Classroom features but will not automatically delete data already stored by MotivAI. To request data deletion, see Section 10.
MotivAI removed Google Drive integration in May 2026. If you previously connected Google Drive, that access has been revoked. MotivAI no longer requests or stores any Google Drive data.
MotivAI's AI tutor is powered by a third-party large language model (OpenAI). By using the AI tutor, you acknowledge:
Students must use the AI tutor for legitimate educational purposes only. Using the AI tutor to generate content for academic dishonesty (for example, submitting AI-generated work as one's own without disclosure) may violate your school's academic integrity policy.
MotivAI includes a token-based reward system. The following terms govern token use:
You agree to use MotivAI only for lawful educational purposes. You must not:
MotivAI reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without prior notice, and to report violations to the contracting school or to law enforcement where appropriate.
Schools and teachers using MotivAI agree to:
Teachers are responsible for the configuration of their classes within MotivAI, including the criteria used for token distribution. MotivAI does not determine academic performance criteria — those decisions remain with the teacher and school.
Student education records processed by MotivAI are subject to FERPA. Schools retain ownership of student education records. MotivAI processes this data as a service provider under the school's direction.
Schools may request deletion of all associated student data at any time by contacting blendzion@motivai.co. MotivAI will complete deletion within 14 business days and provide written confirmation. All student education records are also automatically deleted on July 31 of each academic year.
For full data rights information, including individual access and correction rights, see our Privacy Policy.
All software, content, design, trademarks, and technology used to provide MotivAI are the property of MotivAI or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Users may not copy, modify, distribute, sublicense, sell, reverse engineer, or create derivative works based on any part of the platform without prior written permission from MotivAI.
Teacher-uploaded content (for example, syllabi) remains the intellectual property of the uploading teacher or school. By uploading content, you grant MotivAI a limited, non-exclusive license to use that content solely to provide the Service.
MotivAI is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we strive to maintain reliable uptime, we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free access to the platform.
MotivAI may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Where changes materially affect schools with active DPAs, we will provide at least 30 days' written notice where reasonably practicable.
Planned maintenance windows will be communicated to school administrators in advance where possible.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MOTIVAI DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. MOTIVAI DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
AI tutor responses are provided for educational support purposes only and do not constitute professional academic, legal, medical, or psychological advice.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MOTIVAI AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
MotivAI's total liability to any user or institution for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the fees paid by the contracting school to MotivAI in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in this section limits MotivAI's liability for fraud, gross negligence, or willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MotivAI and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service in violation of these Terms; (b) your violation of any applicable law or third-party right; or (c) any content you upload or transmit through the Service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
MotivAI may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Schools with active DPAs will be notified of material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. For non-material changes, the updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
Continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
